One of the top questions that I see on boating forums is, "Where's the best place to buy parts for my [insert boat brand]?"

The truth is, there isn't a single source. And the easiest way to get parts is through your local Cobalt dealer. However, many of us have tracked down OEM suppliers, resellers and secret sources.

This will be the official thread for us to share links to Cobalt parts, supplies and accessories.

Let's try to stick to OEM's, resellers, secret sources, etc. Please, no links to sources like West Marine for general supplies such as dock lines, fenders, etc.

Feel free to post questions if there's something you're looking for or, you if know the brand but can't find a source for the part. Someone here will track it down in time.

Our own @Shauna and her husband manufacture the official Cobalt flagpole kits. Their company is Teg Tech Marine and the website is www.tigtechmarine.com

Here's a source for Mercury schematics. This looks to be an exhaustive list for all Merc components. I suggest finding your engine and downloading the manuals for safe keeping. Resources like this often disappear or the links change over time.

I have used Great Lakes Skipper, Amazon and Ebay for many Cobalt original parts. From time to time Overtons has parts, but you have to be vigilant, as sometimes they pass an order to a supplier who ships when they feel like it.

Bimini Fabric, I have used Great Lakes Boat Top. Located in Tennessee. www.greatlakesboattop.com OEM supplier.

Carpets, I have used Corinthian Marine Carpet. Located Portland, OR. www.corinthian-marine-carpet.com. They are not OEM providers, but have a large variety of carpets for boats and can make any piece from your templates.

I wish I would have known about the Tig Tech flag poles. I just ordered one from the local Cobalt dealer. $500+ Ouch, it really hurt.

I'm looking forward to more responses in this thread. I'm looking for OEM dash switches for my 232, along with a new OEM mooring cover and Bimini. Unfortunately, Great Lakes Boat Tops didn't manufacture the canvas for my year model.

I forgot to mention http://www.bigskyprecision.com/PhenderPro.php is the OEM supplier for the fender clips. They will not sell the Cobalt engraved clips direct, but it's a good place for parts. One thing I'm not for sure on is the clip size or boat installation measurements for specific models.

I am surprised they could not make one for you. Their web site leads one to believe they can do any size.

    I agree. Here's the response I got:

    Dear Adam,

Thank you for your interest in Great Lakes Boat Top original replacement canvas. We are sorry, but unfortunately, the items you have requested for your 2007 Cobalt 232 are not available because we did not pattern the original factory canvas for this manufacturer that year. You could contact the boat dealer from whom you purchased the boat for the appropriate factory canvas source.

Thank you for checking with us. If you have canvas needs for another boat, please contact us again.

Tecnografic makes the dashboards for Cobalt and can supply you with custom dashboards. One for an R7 was about $300.

Bocatech make the lit pushbutton switches that are used on the newer Cobalts.

Boat Zincs are a good source for replacement anodes for the outdrives and engines.

If you are 100% freshwater - I went with Magnesium instead of Zinc - better protection Boat Zincs will help you with that.

This is more of a Mercrusier thing than it is Cobalt but a Mercrusier power steering pump for my 1999 206 was $300. I took my bad pump off, took it to NAPA, bought the same Saginaw Gear GM pump for $65, replaced all the swapped out the fittings and brakets and reinstalled. Works like new.

Thanks for the mention! We aren't THE OEM anymore..we designed them and sold them for many years. They took our design and from what we understand are now having them made overseas. We still sell to many dealers and individuals now!

haha - 'course we do! My husband is from South Florida lol... We just can't get any of them to buy from us. It was hard in the beginning when Cobalt started having them made overseas. I could tell some were hesitant at first - seemed almost doubtful that we were the real thing - especially since we sell to dealers for less than they can get them from Cobalt. Gordy's on Lake Geneva was the first to buy them and they helped pass the word. There are still some hold outs that prefer to order from Cobalt. I think Singleton Marine is probably as far South as we have. We'll sell to individuals now too!

Thanks....that's good to hear. But I'm a recent transplant. Originally from the West Coast.

I really like your product however, my boat came with a teak flag pole in the stern and I have it all refinished and ready to go back on when we finally splash her.

When looking for a mount for the burgee on the bow of our 52' Motor Yacht I came across the Swiveler. Burgees all flap around in the wind and for someone trying to sleep in a forward berth the amount of racket produced by one can be substantial. http://originalswiveler.com/ I kept the pole but had the rail mount. I think I'm going to buy the flat mount with the 10 degree slant-back for a burgee on my current Cobalt project....unless you guys have something better

Originally west coast...San Ramon ( now west coast boats) carries ours...doesn't help you now though lol. We only make the poles.. my husband really started it as a side business specifically making the poles for Cobalt. The standard on our poles is a 20 degree angle..hope that helps!

That's great to learn - Not having any issue with this but we all need to be careful that if we are replacing an "electronic engine part" that it is truly for marine use - they have been shielded for spark etc.

Excellent point. Marine electrical/electronic components in the engine room are ignition protected so they don't create a spark that can blow up the boat. To that point, not every automotive component can/should be used on a boat even if they will technically work.

One reason there is a premium on marine components is the engineering to meet safety and AYBC standards, the other reason is economies of scale. The auto market is astronomically larger than the marine market so components are priced to make a profit for the quantities being sold.

That being said, auto components will almost always be cheaper but they're not always a good replacement.

I ordered a new mooring cover from iBoats yesterday. It was 55% off plus another 10% for being Labor Day weekend (LABOR10 is the extra promo discount). I will post pictures and give an evaluation when I receive it. Its made by Westland (who I believe made my original cover) and is a 9.25 oz Sunbrella fabric.

I am looking for a ski mirror. The boat I purchased did not have one and the mirror from my old boat will not fit. I know I can go to the dealer but does someone make an aftermarket that will fit my 222?

Two knee replacements so my waterski days are over, Tim so I'm not sure. I think I'd start at Overton's and then West Marine.

I found what I was looking for. It is the PTM Edge 100. I don't like the price but it is made to fit on my boat. I ordered it from WakeMaker. They seemed to have the best price at $179 no shipping, no tax.
