Hello fellow Cobalt owners, My name is jim, just recently bought a 1977 cd 19, this my first boat and I fell in love with her the moment i stepped onto her deck, the antique wood look blew me away, have alot of re staining to do, engine is a 350 small block , having problems with the transmission on her , cant get her in neutral, stuck in drive and when i throttle up a little the engine stops immediately and the lower unit make a clank sound and kills the engine , i am mechaniclly inclined but never worked on a boat stern drive before, any tip you guys could give me would be awesome, i love this boat and want to restore it to its original condition as much as i can, would a new sterndrive help ?
