There are 2 loud beeps and whine sound for a few seconds when the key is turned on. Does anyone know the cause for these warning beeps in this situation? I have noticed a whining noise at idle and owners manual indicates this could be due to restricted fuel filter? Anyone familiar with this starting issue??
Solved my starting problem, it was the starter relay. The fuse box has an extra relay so if anyone has this problem it is very easy to unplug the starter relay and replace it with the spare relay that is in the fuse box. There are 3 relays so look for the one labeled starter relay. I have had this intermittent starting issue for a couple years. Tested the neutal safety switch first then the ignition switch before I discovered the starter relay problem. Just wanted to let everyone know about this issue and easy solution. Thanks

Sorry Dennis, I'm just not familiar with Volvos. Hopefully someone will respond if you have not got it solved yet.
