Hi everyone - we have a 2000 226 7.4 MPI Bravo 3. I've noticed that the speedometer is not consistently working the way it did. We have the stock Faria gauges. I went to the outdrive and poked a narrow wire into the intake port thinking that something maybe blocking-- didn't really help that much -- What I'm thinking is to disconnect the tubing from the speedometer at the dash and with low pressure blow out the line? Has anyone tried that?? Or will I screw something else up?? Thanks in advance. 3pointstar
I just had mine serviced and they blew out some junk from the top of the lower unit. Works great now.
Jevon, thank you -- it's this little stuff that drives me nuts - I wish there would be a listing that Cobalt would have in their owner manual of helpful hints
That is the purpose of a forum like this. You get real world answers from folks who gave been through it. Not a sanitized answer that protects from liability. Don't get me wrong, my local Cobalt dealer always helps with real world answers, but I am sure some dealers aren't totally forthcoming so as to increase service revenue.
Those who are here are, forgive the pun, in the same boat as you and as owners we only want to share our experiences to give and get the best information possible.
