Hi Chachie, Welcome to the "Other site." This is Nolaboater99 from Cobalt Chat. Walt, Chachie has a 1985 CM23 like mine. There were only 15 made in '89. His is #7, mine is #15. Chachie, as I am putting mine back together I may ask you for a picture here and there. It's been apart for almost 4 years and while I know the boat really well there may be a few places I've forgotten just how things go back together.. Shawn
Very nice! Love the classics! I’m excited to see the progress you make on it! What’s the status on the interior?
I used minwax red oak and then and polyurethane top. The boat should be finished getting acid washed buffed and waxed tomorrow. Can't wait to put the wood back in.
The top Didn't turn out as well as I wanted but it sat in the sun for 10 year with no one caring about her.
You need some carpet. You can get the exact match at www.boatcarpetcentral.com Also remember, I have a lot of leftover parts so if you need something let me know. I have a nearly complete set of gauges as well as a bunch of other stuff. Nice job. Have you been in the water yet?
I appreciate that. Yes I put it in a couple weeks ago. Rode like a dream. The best boat i have ever had on the river. But now the river levels jumped and I'm grounded until the river goes back down and gets the crap out. Put way to much work to go tear it up now.
The ride was/is there best thing about the CM23. With the motor that far forward it should plane down to about 13-15 mph. Aren't you glad you didn't put the engine in your other boat?
